Michael Jordan's son-in-law lets out 2-word reaction after major career move
Rakeem Christmas, the son in law of six-time NBA champion Michael Jordan, is about to enter the next chapter of his basketball career. Christmas announced via social media that he is coming to South East Asia to play in the Indonesian Basketball League or the IBL.
Christmas will be joining the team known as Amartha Hangtuah for the 2025 season which will begin on Jan. 11. The team announced Christmas's addition to its roster on its media day on Thursday. Meanwhile, Jordan's son-in-law announced it to his followers on Instagram.
The post featured him wearing his new jersey and it also included a two-word caption along with a number of hashtags.
"Gas szn," Christmas said.
Rakeem Christmas is married to Jasmine Jordan, the eldest daughter of six-time Chicago Bulls champion Michael Jordan. In 2019, the couple welcomed a child named Rakeem Michael Christmas.

Michael Jordan's son-in-law Rakeem Christmas has played overseas before
His latest move to play in the Indonesian Basketball League is not the first time that Rakeem Christmas has taken his talents to play abroad. Michael Jordan's son-in-law has become quiet well traveled, playing basketball in various leagues in countries all over the world.
In 2017-18, Christmas played for the New Zealand Breakers in Australia's National Basketbal League or NBL. He averaged 7.2 points and 5.3 rebounds in 10 games for the Breakers.
Before his stint in the NBL, he joined Galatasaray in the EuroCup for give games. In those five games, he put up 5.2 ppg and 4.6 rpg. He's also spent time playing in leagues in the Philippines and Taiwan. He also spent time playing in Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Uruguay.
Before playing internationally, Christmas played in the NBA. He was taken 36th overall (Round 2, Pick 6) by the Minnesota Timberwolves who proceeded to trade his draft rights to the Cleveland Cavaliers along with Turkisk Player Cedi Osman, who was taken five picks ahead of Christmas.
He played for the Cavs Summer League team but was sent to the Indiana Pacers before the 2015-16 season began. Christmas played only one game for the Pacers in his rookie year, the final game of the 2015-16 campaign against the Milwaukee Bucks.
In that game, he played a total of six minutes and contributed four points on a 2-for-2 shooting clip and grabbed one offensive rebound. The Pacers beat the Bucks 97-92.
He played more games for the Indiana Pacers in his sophomore year, suiting up for a total of 29 games. He averaged 2.0 ppg and 1.9 rpg. He scored a career-high 10 points against the Houston Rockets on Feb. 27, 2017, on a 4-for-5 shooting clip. So far, that was the only time he scored in double figures in the NBA.
