Michael Jordan's son shouts out NASCAR podium finisher who won in 'Jumpman' inspired car
NBA Hall of Famer Michael Jordan's son, Marcus Jordan, recently took to his Instagram story to shout out to 23XI Racing's Tyler Reddick for his podium finish over the weekend. While racing in the NASCAR Chicago Street Race, Reddick drove a Toyota wrapped with an image of Michael Jordan's famous Chicago skyline photo.
When Nike was promoting the Air Jordan 1 in the 1980s, the Chicago Bulls star threw down a dunk in front of the Chicago skyline for a commercial. Several years later, when Nike was rolling out the Air Jordan 3, the company used the image of Jordan to create the iconic Jumpman logo.
During the NASCAR Chicago Street Race over the weekend, Tyler Reddick of 23XI Racing — which is owned by Michael Jordan — paid homage to the six-time NBA champ. The modified Toyota Camry car he drove was wrapped with the iconic image of Jordan, drawing the attention of fans online.
Following Reddick's second-place finish in the race, Marcus Jordan shouted him out on Instagram and posted photos showing off the car. Marcus shared two images on his Instagram story, as well as a carousel of photos.

"Not what this Jordan Brand Toyota Camry is about" — Tyler Reddick opens up on disappointing final lap in iconic car featuring Michael Jordan
Michael Jordan has become a fan of NASCAR racing in recent years, founding the 23XI racing team in 2020 alongside Joe Gibbs driver Denny Hamlin. The team signed Tyler Reddick heading into the 2024 season, who raced in the Michael Jordan-wrapped Toyota seen above.
In the NASCAR Chicago Street Race, Reddick was in a position to win heading into the last lap. He ended up losing to Alex Bowman following a rough final lap in which he made an error that cost him the race.
The situation marked the second week in a row that Reddick and Jordan's 23XI Racing came up short of a first-place finish, despite Reddick moving up to third in driver's points after Saturday's race. While speaking to reporters after the race, he reflected on the final lap and admitted fault.
“It was going to be really close and had I not made the mistake — just crazy. Run all day long and know where my limits are, and here at the end when it matters most I made the dumbest mistake. A clean lap was all I had to do and couldn’t even do that.”
“I hate it. Not what this Jordan Brand Toyota Camry is about and what this team is about. Just got to start capitalizing on these ones.”
While he was unable to get the win in Chicago, he certainly seemed to win over quite a few fans with the Jumpman wrap.
