Michael Jordan's wife Yvette Prieto's relationship with Enrique Iglesias's younger brother before settling with the Chicago Bulls legend: All you need to know
Yvette Prieto has been Michael Jordan's wife for nearly 10 years, as the couple tied the knot in 2013. The Hall of Famer met Prieto at a Miami nightclub in 2008 before moving in together the following year and getting engaged in 2011.
Prior to dating the most iconic basketball player of all-time, Prieto spent some time dating Julio Iglesias Jr., son of legendary Spanish singer Julio Iglesias and older brother of Enrique Iglesias.
Not much has been made public about Prieto's relationship with Iglesias Jr., however, it is known that the pair dated in the early 2000s. It is unclear what led to their break up.
Yvette Prieto is Michael Jordan's second wife
Prior to Yvette Prieto, Michael Jordan's wife was Juanita Vanoy. The couple were married in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1989 and had three children together. When they filed for divorce in 2002, they were able to reconcile. Finally, in 2006, the couple decided to end things for good.
Vanoy was awarded $168 million in the divorce settlement, the largest amount on public record in any celebrity divorce up to that point. The Chicago Bulls legend, who is reportedly worth $2.2 billion now, has reportedly learned from his hefty payout. His prenuptial agreement with Prieto assures that both sides will keep the assets that they entered the marriage with.
If they end up parting ways for any reason, Michael Jordan's wife will be guaranteed $1 million for every year that they are married. That number will rise to $5 million per year, if they last a decade. The couple are currently about six months away from the 10-year milestone.
Michael Jordan's wife Yvette Prieto's career
Prior to becoming Michael Jordan's wife, Yvette Prieto mostly worked as a model, most notably modeling for fashion titan Alexander Wang. Prieto also worked for Aqua Management, a Miami-based property management company, as well as serving as a manager at Beet the LBS.
Additionally, she spent time working at a hospital and working for her father's business, however, details of her role at both companies have never been revealed.
With her marriage to Michael Jordan, it is presumed that Prieto has now retired from the work force. The pair had twin daughters in 2014, and Prieto appears to have settled into a role as a stay-at-home mother. Prieto is unlikely to re-enter the work force at any point, as the terms of her prenupital agreement with Jordan ensure that she will be set for life, even if they do break up.
