NBA analyst Colin Cowherd recently heaped praise on LA Lakers forward LeBron James. Cowherd hailed James' longevity and pointed out how the Lakers star is still going strong despite playing over 1,500 games in the league. According to Cowherd, James' longevity sets him apart from Michael Jordan.

“MJ played 1200 games in his career, in his last 250 he was shot … LeBron’s played over 1600 games and still has a burst,” Cowherd said on his show.
"If you told me I could sign KD or LeBron for a two-year contract, I'd sign LeBron... I believe he can be the best player on the best team in the league." — @ColinCowherd https://t.co/hs4nZJ9o7E

LeBron James averaged 30.3 points per game last season in his 19th campaign.

Michael Jordan, in comparison, averaged 22.9 points per game in his penultimate season and 20.0 points per game in his final campaign.

It is also important to note that Jordan retired twice before ending his career. James is 37 but has not taken any breaks from the sport. For him to play almost 20 seasons in the league at such a high level is a testament to his greatness. His longevity is what helps separate him from other elite players.

"If you put him on the right team, he could lead an NBA team to a championship" - Colin Cowherd on LeBron James

LeBron James' excellence has often been overlooked due to the hype surrounding him. The greatness he has shown since high school has led to elevated expectations. The bar set for James is much higher than the average player in the NBA.

According to Cowherd, James still has the ability to lead a team to a title.

"If you put him on the right team, he could lead an NBA team to a championship. He's just with an organization that's got chaos, a bad roster and nobody can really shoot."
"As much as we all love Kevin Durant, and I think he's a great player, but if you told me I could sign KD or James on a two-year contreact I would take James."
