"MJ, the ultimate cheater of all time" - Bulls teammate got tricked by billionaire Michael Jordan who knew results of a race before it started

Michael Jordan might be the greatest of all time for many, but a former Chicago Bulls teammate called him a cheater. Jordan is known for his competitive nature and love of gambling. He went to great lengths to ensure that he would win as much as possible.

In an interview with The Athletic in 2019, Will Perdue told the story of how Jordan cheated to win player wagers in the popular Dunkin' Donuts race. As the race was rehearsed before the games, MJ would ask the security guards the winner before making a bet with his teammates.

"I played with MJ, the ultimate cheater of all time," Perdue said. "He would always want to wager on the Dunkin' Donuts race. What we didn't know is that they rehearsed it. The security guards were here during the rehearsal, so they would see who wins. He'd ask the security guards who would win before he'd be willing to wager."

Will Perdue further explained Michael Jordan's demeanor when it comes to gambling, as well as any other competition. Perdue told the "McNeil & Parkins Show" in April 2020 the old joke about how Jordan would throw his own mother under the bus it meant a win for him.

"That's who Michael Jordan was," Perdue said. "Win at all costs. There's the old joke that Michael would throw his mom under the bus if he thought it would help him win. Well not only would he throw her under the bus, if he threw it in reverse, he'd run her over again so he can win by double figures. He'd do that too."

Michael Jordan has always been known to be aggressive against his teammates to motivate them. However, Jordan went too far on several occasions, like punching Steve Kerr and Will Perdue.

While Kerr's story has been in the spotlight since "The Last Dance" documentary in 2020, Perdue confirmed it the same year in an interview with CBS Sports. Perdue explained that he set a hard pick on Jordan, who punched him in retaliation.

"He did, and I wasn't the only one," Perdue said. "That's how competitive our practices were. That wasn't the only fight; that was one of numerous. But because it involved Michael Jordan, and it leaked out, that it became a big deal.

MJ might have been a prick for his teammates, but it paid off big time. Jordan won six NBA championships at the peak of his powers, helping many players win the rings they dreamt of.
