Multimedia behemoth Netflix dubs Luka Doncic "Pogue" upon Outer Banks' season 4 release
Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic took to X, formerly Twitter, on Thursday, to share his excitement for the release of the fourth season of the popular Netflix series "Outer Banks".
Netflix's X handle retweeted Doncic's tweet, dubbing him as prospective "Pogue", a reference to one of the two groups the characters in the show are split into.
"Outer banks day finally 🔥🔥🔥" Doncic tweeted.
"LUKA DONCIC POGUE CONFIRMED???" Netflix retweeted.
The Netflix series is set in a coastal town along the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where a stark social divide splits the wealthy seasonal residents and working-class locals into "Kooks" and "Pogues" respectively. The show follows the conflict between teenagers from the two groups as they search for a lost treasure.
The third season of the adventure/thriller series was released in February 2023, giving the upcoming season almost a 20-month wait, as Doncic excitedly awaits its release on Wednesday.
Luka Doncic reveals he won $100K from teammate on wild full-court shot
Luka Doncic apparently supplemented his NBA income by nailing a full-courter during the Dallas Maverick's open practice session at the American Airlines Center on Sunday, labeled the "Fan Jam" event.
Despite a calf injury, Doncic made the shot with a right-hand hook. After making the shot, his teammate Dereck Lively II was seen throwing a towel at Doncic in disbelief as he walked off the court.

When asked about the wager by a fan on X, formerly Twitter, the five-time NBA All-Star revealed that he won a $100K bet from Lively for making that shot.
Luka Doncic is seemingly ready to top off the 2023-24 season, which is the best one he's had in his six-year NBA career yet. Not only did he make his first NBA Finals appearance last season, but he also almost averaged a 30-point triple-double in the regular season, as well as the playoffs.
The 6-foot-7 guard concluded the previous regular season, almost averaging a 30-point triple-double with 33.9 points, 9.2 rebounds, 9.8 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 48.7% from the field and 38.2% from beyond the arc.
Entering his seventh season in the league, the 25-year-old has arguably still not reached his prime. Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks have elevated expectations thrust on them for the upcoming season.
Currently playing preseason games, the Mavericks begin their 2024-25 campaign against the San Antonio Spurs on Oct. 24.
