"My baby got his ring": Gilbert Arenas' ex Laura Govan beams with pride as she celebrates son Alijah Arenas' latest championship win

Gilbert Arenas' ex Laura Govan is a proud mom of four children. She was on cloud nine as her son, Alijah Arenas, received his Southern California Regional Division IV championship ring on Saturday.

The ex-girlfriend of the Golden State Warriors player took to social media to share the proud moment with fans. She posted a picture with her son on her Instagram Story.

"My baby got his ring today. Congratulations papa. Proud of you," Govan wrote in the story.

In March earlier this year, Alijah led his Chatsworth High boys’ basketball team in the Division IV championship game against Cleveland. Alijah ended the game with 21 points,18 rebounds, and seven assists for his team.

Gibert Arena and Laura Govan have four children together. They have two sons Alijah Arenas and Aloni Arenas and two daughters Izela Arenas and Hamiley Arenas. Arenas and Govan separated in 2014 after briefly being engaged.

Laura Govan is confident that son Alijah Arenas can beat father Gilbert Arenas in a 1-on-1 game

Gilbert Arenas in his prime, was considered one of the best offensive players in the league. From playing for the Washington Wizards to the Golden State Warriors, Arenas excelled at a very young age.

Now that his son Alijah is trying to make it to the NBA, he will naturally be compared to his father. However, Alijah's mother has immense confidence in her son, who is not even in college yet.

TMZ asked Govan if her son could beat his father in a 1-on-1 game:

"Hell yeah, you kidding me? F*** outta here," replied Govan.

Gilbert Arenas' former girlfriend also said that her son has a big heart and wants to help people.

"He's a great kid," she said. "He's a scholar athlete. He's sweet. I've seen him tell me to stop in the middle of the street, take off his shoes, and give them to a homeless person. That's just who he is in his heart."

Govan also said that her son will not necessarily follow in his father's footsteps. Gilbert Arenas played for the Arizona Wildcats from 1999 to 2001 and his mother isn't too sure if Alijah would choose the same path.

Gilbert Arenas was selected 31st overall in the second round of the 2001 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors, where he played for two seasons.
