"My vowels got all f*cked": Michelle Beadle addresses mixing up Nuggets with N-word on live TV
Last week, Michelle Beadle went viral on social media following a slip-up during FanDuel TV's "Run it Back" show. As the dust starts to settle on this situation, she opened up on what happened during the segment.
Beadle, a longtime TV analyst, hosts the daily NBA show alongside former players Chandler Parsons and Lou Williams. While talking about the Denver Nuggets, she got tongue-tied and said something that sounded like a racial slur instead of the team's name.
While speaking with Brandon "Scoop B" Robinson, Beadle touched on what happened in regards to her slip-up. She admitted that she was trying to talk too fast and it resulted in her mispronouncing Nuggets during the segment.
“I sped through a nuggets question. And my vowels got all f***ed. Then those two turds lost it. And we laughed through the entire Denver segment."
And will probably do so now for the rest of the season. I imagine an edited version is going around. Not showing the real time viewing. And making it seem like an actual n word and no response. Which I can’t control!”
As of now, there has been no reports of Beadle facing any sort punishment for what happened during this on-air segment.
Beadle makes sarcastic social media post following Nuggets slip-up
As expected, Beadle was trending on social media all weekend following her slip-up. Instead of trying to run away from it, the longtime TV host decided to lean into it.
On Monday morning, Beadle took to X (formerly Twitter) to promote her programming for the afternoon. However, she jokingly started the post by saying her weekend was quiet and lovely.
Aside from her work with FanDuel TV, Beadle has been a sports anchor for over 15 years now. She got her first big break in 2009, when ESPN hired her to co-host the show "SportsNation" alongside Colin Cowherd.
Beadle stayed with ESPN for three years, taking on various projects in that time. She would end up departing for NBC in 2012, but her time with the network wasn't over just yet.
The NBA brought on Beadle to serve as the host of their "Sports Network" program. A year later, the network would end up giving her a show alongside fellow journalist Dave Briggs. Beadle eventually began hosting the show solo before it got canceled in the fall of 2013.
In 2014, Beadle made her return to ESPN. She'd go back to co-hosting SportsNation, and later became one of the hosts for NBA countdown. She'd remain with the network for five years before the two sides agreed to a contract buyout in 2019.
