"N***a please": Freddie Gibbs trolls Tristan Thompson over his soft voice, sparks online memefest
Tristan Thompson hasn't played in the NBA since April 2022 and no one really knows what is going on with him. The former NBA champion is in good shape, however, which may mean that he could return to the professional basketball league.
Kyrie Irving, Thompson's former teammate, was recently involved in a blockbuster trade. Irving was sent to the Dallas Mavericks for Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith and draft picks.
Thompson spoke Irving's trade request on TV, but was trolled by Freddie Gibbs, a 40-year-old rapper. After the big man shared his thoughts regarding his former teammate, Gibbs laughed at him and posted it on his Twitter account.
Tristan Thompson was trolled by Freddie Gibbs
Thompson is very familiar with Kyrie Irving as the two played together for the Cleveland Cavaliers. They were also both on the team during the 2016 championship run, which was incredible.
During his recent appearance on live television, the former Cavaliers forward spoke about Irving's trade request. Thompson believed there was a chance for the point guard to reunite with LeBron James in Los Angeles.
"N***a please," Freddie Gibbs said after watching Tristan's interview, presumably making fun of his voice and accent.
Despite being born in Gary, Indiana, Gibbs is a fan of the Chicago Bulls. He grew up watching Michael Jordan and enjoyed watching Jimmy Butler and Derrick Rose later on.

Interestingly, Tristan Thompson played for the Bulls in his last NBA season. However, he wasn't great as he only averaged a career-low 5.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Thompson played 23 games for Chicago, starting in three of them.
The West Coast reunion with LeBron James and Kyrie Irving
In his interview, the 6-foot-9 big man talked about teaming up with his former teammates on the West Coast, so this may have been something else Gibbs joked about. Considering how bad Thompson was last season, he may not be a good fit anymore.
"I texted Kyrie, I said, 'Time to get the gang back together,'" Thompson said in the interview. "Because it can happen on the West Coast.”
During his 11-year NBA career, Tristan Thompson has played for only one team in the Western Conference. The big man was with the Sacramento Kings during the 2021-22 season, but was traded to the Indiana Pacers after 30 games.

Thompson is only 31 and many NBA teams could use his services. He is a great rebounder who plays well inside, so it will be interesting to see if any team gives him a chance this season.
