Over the weekend, the NBA posted on X (formerly Twitter), breaking down Edwards' dunk in Game 3 against the Dallas Mavericks. It included things like takeoff distance, maximum ball height and ball speed through the rim.

Through his first four years in the league, Anthony Edwards has put together an impressive highlight reel of poster dunks. In Game 3 against the Dallas Mavericks, the former No. 1 pick took another victim under the rim.
Midway through the third quarter, Edwards found a clear path to the lane. He quickly blew by his defender, causing Daniel Gafford to slide over as the last line of protection. Gafford decided to jump and contest Edwards at the basket. However, the Timberwolves star easily elevated over him for a huge slam.
Anthony Edwards had one of his best performances of the conference finals in Game 3. He played 43 minutes and finished with 26 points, nine rebounds, nine assists and two steals. However, it was insufficient to put Minnesota in the winning column. They ended up losing 116–107.
Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving were big reasons why Dallas secured a win in Game 3. Doncic had 33 points, seven rebounds, five assists and five steals.
Edwards will be called upon in a big way to come up big in Game 4. Staring down the face of elimination, Minnesota has to pull out all the stops to try and keep their season alive.
Through the first three games, the Mavs have done a good job of containing Edwards. In the conference finals, he is averaging 22.0 points, 8.3 rebounds and 8.0 assists on 38.6% shooting. This is his lowest scoring and shooting mark of any series this postseason.
