NBA fans react to Golden State Warriors ending 11-game road losing streak against the Rockets - "Ya'll better not start another streak I swear"
The Golden State Warriors (37-36) are 6th in the Western Conference standings. Throughout the season, they have struggled to find any form of rhythm similar to the team they were in the previous season.
The Warriors have also struggled on the road with an 8-29 record, but managed to win their first road game since January 30. Kai Gonzalez, from Twitter, said:
"Ya'll better not start another streak I swear"
The Golden State Warriors' struggles this season
After winning the championship in last year's NBA Finals and dominating the Los Angeles Lakers during opening night, the Golden State Warriors have not been able to reach that same level of elite play ever since.
Outside Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Jordan Poole, Kevon Looney, the rest of the players on the roster are still young and inexperienced.
After the team traded away important pieces from their bench unit to Otto Porter Jr., Gary Payton Jr., and Damion Lee, their current second unit have struggled to provide the same level of production as last year's bench did.
The team is also without Andrew Wiggins, who has been away from the team since the All-Star break for personal reasons and looks as if he might remain sidelined for the rest of the season.
The Warriors have struggled the most on the defensive end of the ball with a defensive rating of 113.9, as compared to their offensive rating of 114.3.
The Golden State Warriors' victory against the Houston Rockets
The Golden State Warriors secured their first road victory since January 30 with a 121-108 win against the Houston Rockets.
The dynamic duo of the Warriors led the way, with Steph Curry having 30 points on 10/23 shooting and Klay Thompson with 29 points on 11/21 shooting. The 'Splash Brothers' combined for 59 points in the ball game.
The team had a shooting efficiency of 50% as they were able to generate good shots from 31 total assists. The defense also held up on the road against the Rockets as the Warriors held them to only 41.9% shooting.
The Houston Rockets' highest scorer for the ball game was Jalen Green, who struggled on offense even with 20 points as he only shot 7/19. The same can be said of Kevin Porter Jr., as he only scored 17 points on 4/15 shooting.
With this victory, the Golden State Warriors went up in the Western Conference standings as they are now in the sixth place. With only a few games remaining in the season and a tough Western Conference, the Warriors must finish strong if they have any hopes of being in the playoffs.
