The New York Knicks' pursuit of Jalen Brunson seems to be coming to an end as they are poised to offer the Dallas Mavericks guard a four-year deal.
The Knicks have made a flurry of moves to create cap space to push the deal through. They shipped off several players and made questionable decisions on draft day in order to be in a position to sign Brunson to a lucrative four-year deal.
The Knicks are trading center Nerlens Noel and guard Alec Burks to the Pistons, sources tell ESPN. The Knicks will unload $19M more in salary, clearing the way for cap space to try and sign free agent guard Jalen Brunson.

Could Jalen Brunson fit in with the New York Knicks?
Jalen Brunson had a breakout season with the Dallas Mavericks last year. Stepping up in the absence of superstar Luka Doncic on several occasions, Brunson showed he has what it takes to be a big-time player.
Coming off a solid year with the Mavs, Brunson will be expecting a large payday. As an unrestricted free agent, the Mavericks have no hold over the guard, opening the door for the Knicks to pick him up.
The Knicks have struggled to find a solution to their point guard problem, with even Kemba Walker failing to make an impact. Injury woes for Derrick Rose and underwhelming performances by Immanuel Quickley forced Alec Burks to take up the starting point guard spot.
But with Brunson's potential arrival, the Knicks' problems could come to an end. Brunson, a scoring guard, has a lot to offer and New York could benefit from a high-caliber floor general.
Alongside RJ Barrett in the backcourt, the pair could be a difficult combo for teams to deal with. Factoring in their ability to score off the dribble, the Knicks could boast a fairly potent backcourt.
