NBA fans in stitches after Nikola Jokic apparently shows up drunk to Olympics medal ceremony: "I have a lot more respect for him now"

Nikola Jokic has been known to enjoy a good time during the offseason and the Serbian superstar wasted no time after winning the bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Jokic was captured on camera stumbling after the team's win on Saturday, leading to several fans and analysts wondering how much he had to drink prior to the medal ceremony.

Svetislav Pesic's Serbian side were outstanding throughout the Olympics. They won the bronze medal early on Saturday, defeating Germany 93-83. That led to wild celebrations from the Serbian players and fans, who were understandably delighted after winning their first medal in men's basketball since 2016.

Fans took to social media to applaud the NBA MVP and Olympic medal winner for taking some time out to enjoy his outstanding season.

"I have a lot more respect for him now. Salute," said one fan.
"NBA is work for him, this is his group chat," commented a fan.
"Lol this is gold," said another fan.
"He's so happy and so drunk I love him so much," joked another fan.

One fan questioned how much alcohol the 6-foot-11, 285-pound Serbian center would have to consume to get a good buzz going.

"How much did he have to drink to be that turnt at his size," said a fan.

Serbia's matchup against Germany started at 11:00 a.m. local time with the championship game between USA and France only tipping off at 9:30 p.m. It would have been hard to expect Jokic and his teammates to wait around for the conclusion of the gold medal game to begin their celebrations.

Nikola Jokic begins a well-deserved break before he returns to the Denver Nuggets for the start of the NBA season in October.

Serbian players were heartbroken after a devastating semifinal loss to the United States but Nikola Jokic and his teammates can hold their heads up high after a commendable third-place finish.

Jokic was outstanding throughout the tournament. The 29-year-old led all players at the competition in points (113), rebounds (64), assists (52) and steals (12), an incredible stat line considering he plays the center position.

Over six games, Jokic averaged 18.8 points, 10.7 rebounds and 8.7 assists per game.
