Two of the NBAā€™s leading MVP contenders will meet for the second time this season

Joel Embiid overwhelmingly won their first head-to-head matchup last Jan. 28 in Philly. The Philadelphia 76ers won 126-119 behind Embiidā€™s monster performance. ā€œThe Processā€ finished the game with 47 points, 18 rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks.

Nikola Jokic had 24 points, eight rebounds and nine assists but had seven turnovers in the loss. The back-to-back MVP could be looking to get some payback against Embiid and the 76ers tonight.

Joel Embiid admitted to Draymond Green that he felt slighted when the Warriors forward claimed Jokic was the hardest player to guard. Phillyā€™s superstar center also said something to Shams Charania that sounded like a shot at Jokic:

ā€œIā€™m not a two-time MVP. Iā€™ve never made 1st-Team All NBA, Iā€™ve never won anything, so why is there pressure on me to do something when there are guys that have won a bunch of MVPs and havenā€™t done anything either?ā€

Both may genuinely not care who wins the Michael Jordan MVP Trophy, but they will surely try to prove that one is better than the other.

How Embiid and Jokic will perform against each other tonight could determine who becomes this seasonā€™s NBA MVP.
