NBA Injury Report: Anthony Davis still questionable, Brandon Ingram doubtful, and more updates on LeBron James and Lauri Markkanen | November 28, 2022

Anthony Davis, who has been the NBA’s most dominant player over the last two weeks, remains questionable for the LA Lakers. AD did not play the Lakers’ last game against the San Antonio Spurs due to a left calf contusion.

The eight-time NBA All-Star led the Lakers to a 4-2 record when LeBron James was sidelined with a left adductor strain. In that span, Davis averaged 31.8 points, 17.0 rebounds, 2.7 blocks, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game.

The Lakers list LeBron James as probable and Anthony Davis as questionable for tomorrow’s game against Indiana.

The Lakers showed how good they can be when their offense runs through Anthony Davis. AD also stabilized the Lakers’ defense as they looked like a very competitive team in the past six games.

Thomas Bryant could start for the LA Lakers against the Indiana Pacers. Bryant had nine points, four rebounds and three blocks while taking AD’s place in the starting five against San Antonio.

Wenyen Gabriel could see more minutes without the Lakers’ superstar big man. Gabriel had 15 points, four rebounds and two blocks as the Lakers’ backup center.

Meanwhile, former NBA All-Star Brandon Ingram has been listed by the New Orleans Pelicans as doubtful for their game against the OKC Thunder. Ingram played only 18 minutes in the Pelicans' loss on the road versus the Memphis Grizzlies.

Ingram is suffering from a left great toe contusion and will be evaluated during the morning shootaround.

The Pelicans were down by as many as 30 points against the Grizzlies, which is partly why head coach Willie Green kept Ingram sidelined.

Tomorrow's injury report for the Pelicans:

- Brandon Ingram; doubtful (left big toe contusion)
- Larry Nance; questionable (right shoulder soreness)
- Naji Marshalll questionable (non-COVID illness)

CJ McCollum remains in health and safety protocols.

The Pelicans informed the media yesterday that there was no structural damage to Ingram’s injured toe, which is why the team hasn’t ruled him out. If “Slenderman” does not play tonight, he could return against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday.

Willie Green has a variety of ways in which he can replace Brandon Ingram in the lineup. He can go small and play Trey Murphy III or go big with Larry Nance Jr.

Before playing in back-to-back games against the San Antonio Spurs, NBA superstar LeBron James missed the Lakers’ previous five games. He injured his groin in the last few minutes of the game against the LA Clippers on November 9.

He has been listed as probable for LA's home game against the Indiana Pacers tonight.

LeBron James is probable and Anthony Davis is officially questionable for Monday’s game against Indiana, Lakers say.

The four-time NBA MVP looked fresh in his last two games. On Saturday night, he poured in a season-high 39 points to go with 11 rebounds and three assists. James shot 7-12 from 3-point range, his most efficient this season for the Lakers.

LeBron James is averaging 25.8 points, 8.9 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.3 steals. His 3-point shooting percentage (28.7%), however, is the worst of his career.

Anthony Davis, who missed the second night of the back-to-back against the Spurs, has been listed as questionable due to left calf contusion. If AD does not play or is not 100%, the Lakers will need LBJ to carry them.
