NBA Injury Report: LeBron James probable, Anthony Davis probable and more updates on Draymond Green and Devin Booker | December 13, 2022
Two of the biggest superstars in the NBA are still on the official injury report. The LA Lakers have listed both LeBron James and Anthony Davis as probable for tonight’s marquee matchup against the Boston Celtics.
James and AD have been staples on the Lakers’ injury list for practically the entire season. They’ve played for most of the time when they have that designation but have also missed a few when it seemed like they would play.
Both are expected to suit up for the Lakers as they arrived in Hollywood a few days ago after a grueling six-game road trip. The Lakers finished with a 3-3 mark during that stretch and will happily be playing in front of a home crowd tonight.
LeBron James has been dealing with left foot soreness, which has caused him to miss a couple of games already. He did, however, have an incredible game against the Detroit Pistons last Sunday and expressed excitement to play at Crypto.com Arena for their next game.
Anthony Davis, after their win in Detroit, told the media he was looking forward to a date with the Celtics tonight. Anytime Boston is in town, the Laker faithful will always be eager to see their team beat their eternal rivals.
AD has been on a tear for over a month already and would be eager to lead the LA Lakers against the Celtics. Despite two consecutive losses to the Golden State Warriors and LA Clippers, Boston still owns the best record in the NBA.
The Celtics will be playing the second game of a back-to-back and could suffer a third straight defeat when the Lakers host them.
Draymond Green: Left ankle sprain; Injured since December 10, 2022
Four-time NBA champ Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors is listed as probable as his team starts a six-game road trip. The Warriors will begin an East coast swing versus the Milwaukee Bucks tonight.
Green played 36 minutes last Monday in a win over the Boston Celtics. He apparently sprained his ankle against the Celtics but still finished the game.
The former NBA Defensive Player of the Year winner has been on a roll in his past eight games. He is averaging 10.3 points, 6.9 assists, and 6.0 rebounds in 33.5 minutes during that span.
Green’s presence will be invaluable as the Warriors try to contain Giannis Antetokounmpo, who’s widely considered to be the best player in the NBA. Unless something drastic happens, the NBA should see a battle royale between Green and Antetokounmpo tonight.
Devin Booker: Left hamstring tightness; Injured since December 11, 2022
NBA All-Star Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns will miss his second straight game tonight versus the Houston Rockets. Booker was in straight clothes the other night when the Suns went down to the New Orleans Pelicans in overtime.
Phoenix is on a four-game losing streak and has dropped its hold on the best record in the West. They could fall further down the standings as Booker will be in street clothes when the Suns take on the Rockets.
“Book” is on track for another NBA All-Star selection with the way he’s playing. He’s going to miss just his second game tonight and has been elite for the Suns this season. Booker is averaging a career-high in scoring with 27.4 points to go with 4.8 rebounds and 5.8 assists.
Landry Shamet, Damion Lee, Cameron Payne, and Dario Saric should see more playing time as Booker sits on the bench.
