NBA Injury Report: Steph Curry out, Klay Thompson probable and more updates on Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray | December 20, 2022

Two-time NBA MVP Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors will miss another game due to a shoulder injury. He will be sidelined for the third straight match when the Warriors visit the New York Knicks tonight.

Curry injured his shoulder in Golden State’s 125-119 loss to the Indiana Pacers last Wednesday. Despite playing just 30 minutes, he still led the Warriors in scoring with 30 points and also handed out a team-high seven assists.

Steve Kerr’s charges, however, show they still have enough fight in them without the reigning NBA Finals MVP. For the first time this season, they won a game minus the league’s all-time three-point king.

The Warriors beat the Toronto Raptors 126-110 on the road in perhaps their most impressive win of the season. They were led by Jordan Poole’s career-high 43 points to defeat a potential Eastern Conference playoff team on its home floor.

Donte DiVincenzo could play extended minutes as Steph Curry sits out another game.

Meanwhile, Klay Thompson is also on the Warriors’ injury list as probable. The four-time NBA champ is dealing with a sore left knee but is expected to play.

Without Curry and Andrew Wiggins, who is suffering from a right adductor strain, the Golden State Warriors have relied more on Thompson. “Killa Klay” is rounding out to form this month as he is averaging 21.9 points on 39.4% shooting from the field, including 36.0% from deep.

Andrew Wiggins remains out against the Knicks in NY tomorrow. Jonathan Kuminga and Klay Thompson both listed as probable with left knee soreness.

Back in October, he averaged 12.3 points while making 34.6% of his field goal attempts. He also normed just 28.6% of his three-point shots. The Warriors could use his help when they take on the New York Knicks tonight.

Nikola Jokic, fresh off a mind-boggling performance against the Charlotte Hornets, is on the Denver Nuggets’ injury report. He is listed as probable due to a right knee contusion.

“The Joker” picked up the injury on his way to 40 points in 40 minutes to go with a career-high 27 rebounds and 10 assists. He is, however, expected to play tonight against the Memphis Grizzlies on the Nuggets’ home floor.

The two-time and back-to-back NBA MVP has been on a tear over the last five games. He is averaging 34.4 points, 14.8 rebounds and 9.8 assists over that span. Jokic is also hitting 59.4% of his shots, including 31.3% from long-range.

Unless there’s a setback to his knee, he should be available tonight for the Denver Nuggets.

The reigning NBA MVP’s co-star in Denver could miss the action tonight as he is listed as questionable. The Nuggets have been extra careful in managing Jamal Murray’s load and minutes after tearing his ACL the previous season.

Murray has already missed four games this season due to load management. He is averaging 17.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 5.4 assists for the Nuggets.

Bones Hyland and Christian Braun are expected to play bigger minutes if Jamal Murray is sidelined tonight. Mike Malone’s rotation could be much different tonight than usual as he has a few more players that are banged up.
