NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal to man the turntables at LIV Golf event in Dallas
Since his NBA career ended, one of the many passions Shaquille O'Neal has followed is music. Aside from his rap career, the Hall of Famer continues to make a name for himself as a DJ.
O'Neal is regularly touring with his "DJ Diesel" act, hitting some of the biggest cities in the country. According to reports, he's been booked to perform at a major golf event in Dallas, Texas on Sept. 21.
From Sept. 20-22, LIV Golf will be holding its team championship at the Maridoe Golf Club. Following the conclusion of the event, the tour is hosting its first "LIV Golf Experience." This will be a live entertainment attraction held at a restaurant and nightclub in the area.
The LIV Golf Experience has booked three DJs to perform at the event, but Shaquille O'Neal will be the headline act. Aside from Shaq, the other artists who will perform include Dombresky, Zack Bia, Linska and Distant Matter.
For those looking to see the LA Lakers legend perform at this event, a general admission ticket costs $75. There is also an option to book a VIP table, but that costs $3,000.
Shaquille O'Neal gives a shout out to Kobe Bryant following DJ gig in LA
Before Shaquille O'Neal launched his DJ career, he was one of the most dominant big men in NBA history. After returning to one of his old stomping grounds, he gave a shout-out to arguably his best teammate.
Shaq bounced around the league during his time in the NBA, but he's most known for his stint with the LA Lakers. During his time there, he won a trio of championships alongside the late Kobe Bryant.
One of Shaquille O'Neal's gigs was at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Ironically enough, it happened to fall right around what would have been Kobe's 45th birthday.
Over the weekend, Shaq posted a clip from his event in LA. He gave a birthday shout-out to his former running mate, citing that the sold-out show was a proper way to honor the late legend:
When they were winning championships with the Lakers, the outside view was that Shaq and Kobe didn't have the greatest of relationships. Even though they butted heads on numerous occasions, the two superstars still had nothing but respect for each other behind the scenes. Moments like this are a testament to just how important Kobe was to Shaq. He continues to honor the memory of his friend every chance he gets.
