Of course, this does impact contending teams like the Phoenix Suns, Milwaukee Bucks and others who are going all in this season. Westbrook provides a high-level of intensity, whether he's coming off the bench or not. After all, he is a former MVP with the Thunder, so he can make a huge impact on any team.

If the Clippers decide to pursue him, he could be their sixth man, along with Eric Gordon. Just the thought of Westbrook being a spark plug off the bench for a contending team could change how other teams approach each other this season. Additionally, he'll be away from the limelight, which could help him focus better.
