NBA superstar Paul George puts AJ Dybantsa on spot with question around Cooper Flagg, Ace Bailey
Aside from his ongoing NBA career, Paul George has broken into the world of podcasting as well. While talking with one of the top high schoolers in the country, George put him on the spot in regards to his potential.
Following what many considered a lackluster 2024 class, the 2025 NBA draft class is expected to be loaded with blue-chip prospects. At the top are notable names such as Cooper Flagg and Ace Bailey, but the class as a whole is projected to be deep.
During a Monday clip of his "Podcast P" show, Paul George sat down with forward AJ Dybantsa. He is in his senior year of high school and is the No. 1 recruit in the class of 2025. When PG asked Dybantsa where he'd rank himself in the upcoming class, he said he'd be the top pick.
"Yeah I bet on myself," Dybantsa said. "Always bet on yourself."
Dybantsa has received numerous offers from Division 1 programs but has yet to make a decision on his future.
As for George, he has yet to make his regular-season debut with his new team. After departing the LA Clippers for the Philadelphia 76ers in free agency, people across the league have been anxious to see this new Big Three in action. However, PG has been sidelined after suffering a bone bruise during a preseason matchup.
Paul George and AJ Dybantsa have trained together in the past
Speaking on the podcast is not the first time Paul George and AJ Dybantsa have crossed paths. The two trained together when the nine-time All-Star was sharpening his skills in the offseason.
PG and Dybantsa were first spotted together during the summer of 2023. At the time, the then-Clippers forward was getting his body right after missing the end of that season for LA.
In terms of players to train with, Paul George is a player AJ Dybantsa can learn a lot from. As a 6-foot-9 forward who can do a little bit of everything, his game can resemble that of the Philadelphia 76ers forward. Part of what makes Dybantsa so special is his ability to create and score on all three levels at his size.
As he gets closer to joining the NBA ranks, George could end up being a player comp for Dybansta. The offensive similarities are there, but the nation's top prospect will also have to show he can be a stopper on defense.
Seeing that George invited Dybansta on his podcast, it's evident that Sixers forward is confident in the high schooler's potential as he strives to reach the NBA.
