NBA Trade Rumors: Lakers eyeing deal to pair former Sixth Man of the Year in potential Jonas Valanciunas trade

We're learning more about the LA Lakers with each passing game this season. While the team is above .500 through 27 games, its need for depth in the frontcourt continues to grow more dire.

Over the last few weeks, trade rumors have continued to swirl around the Lakers as they are reportedly eyeing a trade for a big man. One name has repeatedly popped up as a potential target: Jonas Valanciunas.

On Saturday, a report listed one of Valanciunas' teammates as an additional target in a potential trade package.

According to NBA Insider Evan Sidery, LA's front office has reached out to the Washington Wizards to inquire about Malcolm Brogdon in addition to Valanciunas.

Valanciunas would likely be a starter alongside Anthony Davis, while Brodgon would bolster the Lakers' bench unit, filling two massive needs for the team as they eye a deep playoff run this season.

Three Lakers players to watch out for in a potential deal with Washington could be Jaxson Hayes, Cam Reddish and Christian Wood. Jarred Vanderbilt could also be a trade candidate for cap reasons if they pursue a trade for Brogdon and Valanciunas.

Lakers win third of last four after three-game skid

On Thursday, LA traveled to the Golden 1 Center and faced the Sacramento Kings in a Pacific Division matchup. The Lakers entered the game aiming to win back-to-back games.

LA improved to 15-12 with a 113-100 victory as Austin Reaves and Anthony Davis led the way. Reaves finished with a team-high 25 points on 7 of 14 shooting, connecting on three of his seven 3-point attempts. He also grabbed six rebounds and dished out five assists in one of his best performances of the season.

Davis added 21 points and a game-high 19 rebounds. The nine-time All-Star also recorded a season-high six blocks with three steals on the defensive end. The Lakers have won three of their last four games and will face the Kings again on Saturday.
