New York Knicks player expresses frustration over playing time on social media - "Tired asf of just being out there for cardio"

The New York Knicks secured a 123-107 win on Tuesday against the Portland Trail Blazers, despite an electric 38-point performance from Damian Lillard at a score of 123-107.

However, hours after the game, Knicks center Mitchell Robinson posted on Snapchat:

"Tired asf of just being out there for cardio fam like I want to play basketball to really just wasting my time and energy. Disappearing for a while."

The New York Knicks received great contributions from Julius Randle and Immanuel Quickley, as both combined for 50 points and 20 rebounds. RJ Barrett also dropped 22 points and five rebounds, while shooting an efficient 61.5%. While Mitchell Robinson had two points and four rebounds and played 21:27.

New York Knicks' Mitchell Robinson displeased with his playing time

Julius Randle leads the New York Knicks roster with 35.9 minutes per game. Jalen Brunson is second at 34.9, followed by RJ Barrett (34.1), Josh Hart (30.2), Quentin Grimes (29.3), Immanuel Quickley (28.5) and Mitchell Robinson (27.3).

For the season, Mitchell Robinson is averaging 7.5 ppg and 9.1 rebounds, while shooting 68.8%. He also leads the New York Knicks in blocks at 1.6 blocks per game. He also has a 109.5 defensive rating.

Compared to his previous season, his ppg was higher at 8.5 ppg while shooting 76.1%. But his average in rebounds was lower last season at 8.6 rpg.

Life’s a climb but the views great 🫶🏾

Goodnight !

The timing of the Snapchat post from the New York Knicks center comes off as interesting, with the team winning two straight games and seven of their last 10 games. The Knicks (41-30) are fifth in the Eastern Conference.

Love Mitchell Robinson, an important piece to the team. Maybe take a look at Robert Williams career and understand “roles” in winning. That’s like an offensive lineman bitching about not getting enough passes thrown to him! 😂😂😂 not a slight, real talk twitter.com/thenbacentral/…

Greg Anthony, a former NBA player, said that Mitchell Robinson should have a team-first mentality and accept his role with the Knicks.

The New York Knicks' playing style

The New York Knicks have the fifth-ranked offense in the NBA at an offensive rating of 116.1. A key aspect is with how the team has played faster compared to how it ran its offense last season.

It also helps that the team acquired Jalen Brunson, who is averaging 23.8 ppg, as he elevates their offense at the guard position. The New York Knicks have extra pieces in the guard position, with Immanuel Quickley averaging 13.7 ppg coming off the bench and RJ Barrett averaging 19.8 ppg.

Julius Randle leads the way for the New York Knicks at 25.2 ppg.

With a huge chunk of the offense going around from each of the mentioned players, and not a clear floor general at the guard position, the result is the New York Knicks being last in assists (22.3 ast) per game.

Even with improved play this season compared to last season, the New York Knicks could use some quality ball movement in their offense.
