Nike repays Kevin Durant with epic tribute featuring Deion Sanders voiceover
Nike recently released a tribute video for Team USA's Kevin Durant after he surpassed Lisa Leslie as the all-time leading Olympic scorer. The Americans took command of their quarterfinal matchup against the Brazilians (122-87), and Durant scored his 489th point to set the new record.
The iconic brand wasted no time, posting a video tribute to the three-time Olympic gold medalist, which was narrated by Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders.

"There is a reaper," Sanders said. "And every four years, your time runs out. You might forget your debts, but he's ready to collect."
Durant finished the game against Brazil with 11 points, four rebounds and three assists. The two-time NBA champion came off the bench and shot 50% from the field, which helped Team USA in their win.
Durant surpassed Carmelo Anthony's U.S. Men's Olympic scoring record of 336 points at the 2021 Tokyo Games. The star forward will add more to that record on Wednesday during a semifinal contest against Serbia.

NBA Hall of Famer reacts to Kevin Durant's accomplishment
Many former and current players congratulated Kevin Durant on social media. One personality who took time to commend Durant's accomplishment was former LA Lakers star Magic Johnson. The Hall of Fame point guard expressed his admiration for KD and his new scoring record.
"Congratulations to Kevin Durant on becoming the career leader in points for the U.S. in Olympic competition with 489 points!👏🏾 @KDTrey5," Johnson posted on X (formerly Twitter).
Unlike Durant, Johnson never got the chance to compete in multiple Olympic games for Team USA. During his prime, NBA players couldn't participate in amateur competitions. However, the five-time NBA champion was part of the groundbreaking 1992 U.S. Olympic Dream Team.
That group featured some of the brightest stars in NBA history. Fans saw Johnson team up with Larry Bird, Michael Jordan and more. However, that happened at the tail end of his career. Thankfully, the 6-foot-9 guard won his first and only Olympic gold medal while averaging 8.0 points and 5.5 assists.
Johnson's trendsetters paved the way for other NBA stars to collect international basketball accolades. Durant has made the most of that chance and is now on his way to winning a fourth gold medal.
