Nikola Jokic gets honest after DeAndre Jordan claims he knows lyrics to 50 Cent's "Many Men"
Nikola Jokic has been one of the most fascinating players in the NBA. More than his brilliance on the court that gave him three Most Valuable Player awards and one championship, Jokic’s demeanor and personality have captivated fans and teammates alike. One aspect that kept fans curious about the "Joker" was his music taste.
On a podcast titled "Run It Back Show," his teammate DeAndre Jordan said Jokic loved the rap song “Many Men” by 50 Cent. Jordan said it was Serbian’s favorite and that he knew its lyrics.
"Any time Nikola Jokic requests a song, if it's not Serbian folk music, it's 'Many Men' by 50 Cent," Jordan said. "And he knows the words from start to finish."
Jordan’s revelation has become viral on social media in the past week. However, Jokic revealed the true score following the Denver Nuggets’ win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night.
Jokic denied knowing all the words from the famous rap hit, but he acknowledged that he loved the song.
“I love the song, I love the song, but I’m not going to (sing it),” Jokic said.
“No, (Jordan) is lying. I don’t know all the words,” Jokic added when teased by the 'Inside the TNT' crew led by fellow legendary center Shaquille O’Neal.
Jokic finished the game with a triple-double of 27 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. It was the Joker’s 19th triple-double this season as the Nuggets continue to climb up the Western Conference standings with a 27-16 win-loss card.
Jokic has been once again on top of NBA MVP conversations this season as he averages a near triple-double of 30.1 points, 13.2 rebounds and 9.9 assists per game, with the fourth-best record in the West.
Nikola Jokic teases about possibility of singing the 50 Cent song at the All-Star weekend
While he denies knowing all the words from 50 Cent’s song “Many Men,” Jokic teased about a possible performance at the All-Star weekend where he could sing the hit.
Jokic suggested the idea as the "NBA on TNT" crew asked him to sing the rap song on air in their postgame interview.
“I don’t know (the lyrics) anymore, but I’m going to (learn) it. Maybe I’m going to perform,” Jokic said.
The crew then reacted to Jokic’s suggestion, proposing it to happen during the All-Star game in February.
“Many Men,” which currently has over 663 million streams on Spotify, was one of the most famous hits by rapper 50 Cent. It was part of his 2003 album "Get Rich or Die Tryin'."
Jokic is expected to be one of the top players at the All-Star weekend, which will take place in San Francisco on the Golden State Warriors’ home floor at the Chase Center.
