Nikola Jokic names favorite food as Serbian national dish Cevapcici gets the axe from his list

Nikola Jokic named his favorite food in a brief question-and-answer video on Instagram. FIBA interviewed many Serbian men's and women's national basketball team players briefly. They uploaded the video on their official Instagram handle.

In the video, the Serbian players are asked about their favorite food from a pool of three iconic Serbian dishes; Cevapcici, Sarma, and Borek. The players had to keep two dishes and discard one from the list of three.

The Nuggets star was straightforward and quick with his choice, contrary to his teammates.

He immediately eliminated Cevapcici from the list, keeping Borek and Sarma as his preferred national dishes. Cevapcici is a traditional Serbian dish made from minced meat or sausages. However, the reigning MVP of the NBA did not seem to be a big fan of it.

Nikola Jokic will be heading to the Paris Olympics as a part of the Serbian Men's National Basketball team with his eyes set on the gold medal. However, he will face a tough road right from the start as the tournament favorites, the USA, are in the same group as them.

Nikola Jokic and Serbia fall against Team USA

Some of the biggest names from the NBA have gotten together on the same team to represent the USA and take the gold medal home. Nikola Jokic got a first-hand experience of the immense talent pool of Team USA in the USA vs Serbia exhibition game last week.

The LeBron James-led side was successful in securing a crushing 105-79 win against their opponents. While Jokic scored 16 points, collected 11 rebounds, and dished out two assists, it was far off from the level of performance the fans see from him at the Denver Nuggets.

The exhibition game can be seen as a foreshadowing of the group stage game of the tournament. If Jokic and Serbia are not careful with their tactics and plays they can very well be the first ones to exit the Olympics and return home empty-handed.

Nikola Jokic and Serbia will go up against Team USA as their first opponents in the tournament on 28 July.
