Nikola Jokic allegedly recruiting 6'7 forward has Nuggets fans thrilled: "Oh god don’t tease us"
On Tuesday, Nikola Jokic led the Denver Nuggets to a thrilling 144-139 overtime victory over the Brooklyn Nets. After a 13-point deficit in the first quarter, the Nuggets edged out the Nets in the remainder of regulation, forcing overtime thanks to stellar performances from Jokic and Russell Westbrook.
After the game, Jokic was seen talking with Bojan Bogdanovic, joking about the two joining forces in Denver. A video posted on X alleges that Jokic asked if Bogdanovic wanted to head back to Denver with the team.
In response, Bogdanovic allegedly told the three-time MVP to ask GM Calvin Booth to trade picks for him. Given that Jokic had said earlier in the week that the Nuggets don't have a lot of 3-point shooters, the possibility of the team acquiring Bogdanovic sparked a wave of reactions from fans.
"Oh god don’t tease us," one fan said.
"Bogdanovic was dead serious," another fan said.
"I hope he's serious lol I'll take some picks or a young talent," one fan said.
Others were quick to praise Bogdanovic's potential fit alongside Jokic and the Nuggets' roster:
"Would actually be a perfect addition," a fan said.
"Denver could for sure use a guy like him off the bench," one fan said.
"He’d be great to have," another fan said.
Nikola Jokic's ludicrous triple-double stat line helps Nuggets secure second win of the season
The Denver Nuggets lost their first two games of the season, falling 102-87 to the OKC Thunder in their season opener on Oct. 24, followed by a 109-104 defeat to the Clippers just two days later.
The two-game skid at home left some fans concerned, but the team responded with back-to-back overtime wins, bringing their season record to .500. Nikola Jokic led the team with 40 points in Monday's 127-125 win over the Toronto Raptors and followed that up with a triple-double against the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday.
In 41 minutes of action, Jokic scored 29 points, grabbed 18 rebounds, and dished out 16 assists, leading his team in all three categories. He also recorded a season-low one turnover during the game, setting the stage for a second-round rematch with the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday.
After the game, Nikola Jokic spoke during the Altitude TV postgame interview about the team's play, saying:
"We were fighting. I still think we're not playing at the level we're supposed to play but we are finding a way to win the game, which is the most important thing right now."
"Just play solid, be careful, try to score, and be aggressive, just take whatever the game gives me."
Following Tuesday's game, only time will tell whether or not the Nuggets have truly found their rhythm so far this season.
