"No way he was that fast" - Lonzo Ball casts doubt on Wilt Chamberlain's athletic prowess, picks Shaq as superior player
Chicago Bulls point guard Lonzo Ball appears to have doubts about Hall-of-Famer Wilt Chamberlain's athletic abilities. Chamberlain, considered one of the best players from a bygone era, is said to be one of the quickest athletes who stood above 7 feet tall.
During the July 27 episode of the 'What an Experience' (WAE) Show co-hosted by Ball, the group discussed who would win in a game of 21 between Chamberlain and Shaquille O'Neal if they were both in their prime.
"I'm going Shaq," Ball said. "I've seen a clip of Wilt Chamberlain, there was no way he was that fast." [29:56]
Chamberlain played in an era when NBA games were not regularly televised. Aside from that, there was also no social media to capture his every move; nor were there video streaming platforms to share his highlights in. As such, footage of his games or lengthy highlights showcasing his athletic ability barely exist, which has caused people to become skeptical on the legend.
Among the things that have caused debates in Chamberlain's career is his record-setting 100-point game. According to the NBA's record books, he achieved this feat in a game against the New York Knicks in March 1962.
On the other hand, O'Neal's career was well documented. Fans got to see him dominate through their TV sets, while a younger audience who is interested in seeing his games or his highlights can just do a quick search on the internet. Through this, any Shaq record or highlight can easily be verified with the click of a few buttons.

Lonzo Ball gives an update on his injury and upcoming return to action
In the same episode of 'The WAE Show,' Ball was asked by his co-hosts to share an update regarding his injury.
Ball said that this was a question that he got asked a lot, and he was able to give an optimistic update. According to the young point guard, he has been given the green light to participate in 5-vs-5 fullcourt games and this will be the first time that he will play after more than two years.
Ball was last seen in action against the Golden State Warriors on January 14, 2022. It was later revealed that he suffered a meniscus tear in his left knee and required surgery for it.
Several updates have been given since then regarding his rehab process and his potential return. At some point, a clip of him working out was even shared to show that he was getting ready to take the court once more.
However, it has been two-and-a-half seasons since Lonzo Ball played. An absence that his fans are hoping would come to an end soon.
