"Ohio State lost by 1 to Oregon" - NBA fans try to decipher LeBron James' angry tweet
College football fans, LeBron James included, were in awe as the Oregon Ducks upset the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday night in Eugene. As Oregon fans stormed the field, Buckeyes fan LeBron James took to X to voice his frustration following the loss.
After he posted the tweet, NBA fans were tasked with deciphering what caused James' frustration, looking to this Week 7 college football matchup as the cause. LeBron humorously shared a tweet of Anger from the movie "Inside Out."
At first, NBA fans questioned the tweet.
"Tell us why you're mad," one fan commented.
"What's wrong king," another fan questioned.
"I don't know the context of this. Is bro still mad his Lakers took a plane to play a preseason game in Milwaukee or," a third fan asked.
College football fans were quick to fill in the unknowing NBA fans.
"For those who don't know why he is angry, Ohio State lost by one to Oregon," one fan posted.
Another fan simply posted a photo of the Oregon Duck mascot.
Final seconds of Ohio State-Oregon caused LeBron James' frustration
The Buckeyes had an opportunity to score after allowing a touchdown, giving Oregon a 32-31 lead with a little over one minute left and one timeout remaining. Ohio State got their drive started in exciting fashion, picking up two first downs and pushing the ball into Oregon territory.
Things went downhill in a hurry for the Buckeyes, as with 22 seconds left, an offensive penalty left the clock running, seemingly without Ohio State's knowledge, taking 12 seconds off the clock.
With 10 seconds remaining, Ohio State quarterback Will Howard fired a pass to freshman wideout Jeremiah Smith that was batted down.
After the play, the Ducks were called for an illegal substitution penalty, giving the Buckeyes the ball at Oregon's 38-yard line with six seconds left.
Looking to put his team in field goal range, Will Howard scrambled but slid as time expired, giving the Ducks the win with no time on the clock.
Ohio State's lack of game-clock awareness cost them the game, as the Buckeyes had a timeout remaining to stop clock runoff. After the debacle, LeBron James took to X to post the GIF.
