OKC Thunder vs LA Lakers player stats and box score (Nov. 29) | 2024-25 NBA season

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander dragged the OKC Thunder to a 101-93 win over the LA Lakers on Friday. The victory improved Oklahoma's record in the Emirates NBA Cup to 2-1. LA has very slim hopes of earning a Western Conference wildcard berth after it dropped its win-loss card to 2-2.

SGA scattered 15 of his 36 points in the final quarter to lead his team to an important win. Isaiah Hartenstein put in another impressive shift, finishing with 11 points, 18 rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block.

Anthony Davis didn't have a big scoring night but filled up the stat sheet. He had 15 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, four blocks and one steal. LeBron James contributed 12 points, eight rebounds and six assists.

OKC Thunder vs LA Lakers Game Summary

The OKC Thunder visited the LA Lakers on Friday for an enticing Emirates NBA Cup game. Jalen Williams got off to a fast start, dropping 11 points in the first quarter to give Oklahoma a 32-24 lead. Lu Dort and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander combined for 14 points to help Williams.

Rookie Dalton Knecht starred for the Lakers in the first quarter. He had six points on 2-for-4 shooting from deep. Anthony Davis tallied five points, three rebounds and two blocks in 10 minutes.

The Lakers kept Williams scoreless in the second quarter but SGA took the slack. He led the offense and finished the first half with 15 points and five assists. Isaiah Hartenstein quietly added seven points and grabbed seven rebounds to help the Thunder take a 51-48 halftime lead.

LA's balanced attack kept them in the game. The starters combined for 34 points while D'Angelo Russell came off the bench to add eight. Austin Reaves, who took a hard fall in the second frame, returned to finish the game.

The Thunder-Lakers game continued to go back and forth in the third quarter. Both teams dug in defensively and turned the matchup into a slugfest. LA won the period 21-20 to trail 71-69 heading into the fourth quarter.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander stepped up when the OKC Thunder needed him most. He had 15 pints in the fourth quarter, including a 3-pointer that pushed Oklahoma's lead over the LA Lakers to 95-91 with 1:35 remaining. The Thunder closed the game with a strong finishing kick to grab an emphatic 101-93 win.
