"Only thing Ted Cruz is crushing is his wife's spirit" - Dwyane Wade's wife Gabrielle Union makes her feelings clear on Texas Senate seat
Dwyane Wade's wife, actress Gabrielle Union, is known for speaking out on major topics. Like many other celebrities, she has chimed in on the upcoming elections.
While most Americans focus on the presidential elections, senators will also be voted on. Over the weekend, Union requested the people of Texas X (formerly Twitter) to replace Ted Cruz.
Someone replied to her post saying Cruz has done a good job in his position. Wade's wife in turn replied to the comment with a stern remark.
Cruz, a member of the Republican party, has served as the senator for Texas since 2013. He is a career politician and even attempted to run for president in 2016. Cruz was among the top Republican candidates for most of his campaign but eventually removed himself after a sizable loss to Donald Trump in the primaries.
Wade and Union own houses in multiple cities across the United States, but none are in Texas. The couple most commonly resides in California following the Hall of Fame guard's NBA career.
Dwyane Wade's wife Gabrielle Union had high praise for New York Liberty and Minnesota Lynx in 2024 WNBA finals
In the summer of 2023, Dwyane Wade decided to become a WNBA franchise owner. He invested in his hometown Chicago Sky, becoming a minority owner.
The couple have been advocates for the women's game, with Gabrielle Union making posts throughout the finals. Following a thrilling Game 5 between the New York Liberty and Minnesota Lynx, she praised both teams on X.
Wade and Union regularly attend games for the Sky, most notably sitting courtside for their home opener with their daughter Kaavia.
Wade's franchise is on the rise. They might have missed the playoffs this season, but things are trending in the right direction. Chicago has a pair of young building blocks in Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso for starters. They also have some good veterans on the roster like Chennedy Carter.
As the league continues to grow in popularity, Union is doing her part to highlight and promote the talent in the WNBA.
