"Pass the f**king ball"- Kevin Durant's alleged leaked audio catches 2x NBA champion fuming at Suns center after blown shot

A reportedly leaked audio recording of Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic being reprimanded by Kevin Durant was uploaded on X (previously Twitter) on Monday. The scene in the video took place during their Friday game against the Dallas Mavericks, a 114-113 win.

In the footage, Durant had the ball and passed it to Nurkic in the post. The center backed down the defender, Spencer Dinwiddie, but lost control of the ball. Luckily for him, the ball found its way back inside the paint for another post-up opportunity.

The European big man continued to back down the defender. However, the player defending him on the post the second time was Mavs center Daniel Gafford. During the sequence, Suns forward Royce O'Neale was waiting for a pass from Nurkic as he was wide open from the 3-point corner.

Unfortunately for the Suns, the big man forced a layup and missed. Dallas had the ball on the other end, but Phoenix was given a foul call. While the game was stopped, Durant went to his teammate and called him out for not passing the ball to the open shooter.

“Hey! We’re a f**king team,” Durant told Nurkic. “Pass the f**king ball to Royce. He’s wide open. Then, you get frustrated and get a tech? Come on. Move past that s**t.”

They completed the task and defeated the Mavs despite the kerfuffle. Nurkic had 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Durant had 26 points on 57.1% shooting.

O'Neale, on the other hand, had other chances offensively and had 18 points on 4-for-4 shooting from beyond the arc.

Suns lost their first game without Kevin Durant

Having Kevin Durant was the reason the Suns were off to an 8-1 start. Durant was the team's leading scorer, averaging 27.6 points on 42.9% shooting from deep. However, losing him in the lineup was a significant blow to their offensive strength.

They played against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday without KD. Although Bradley Beal and Devin Booker played well, it wasn't enough for Phoenix to keep their seven-game winning streak alive. Beal had 28 points and Booker added 23. Even the starting guard, Tyus Jones, added 22 points.

However, the Kings took home the 127-118 overtime victory behind DeMar DeRozan's 34-point performance.

The Suns (8-2) will miss Durant for at least two weeks due to a calf strain. On Tuesday, they start their four-game road trip at the Utah Jazz to start the Emirates NBA Cup. That game will be followed by a rematch at the Kings on Wednesday.

On Friday, they take on the OKC Thunder, followed by their Minnesota TImberwolves game on Sunday.
