Patrick Beverley teases surprising Warriors' pairing as Steph Curry's teammates

Patrick Beverley has floated one idea for the Golden State Warriors after they were linked with a move for LA Clippers star Paul George. The veteran swingman's future might be away from the Clippers after the team secured Kawhi Leonard's services and is unwilling to give George the type of contract he wants.

The Golden State Warriors have been mentioned in a series of rumors in recent weeks, and PG13 could become one of their targets this summer. Patrick Beverley has fueled the conversation and added a seemingly unlikely reunion for the Dubs.

According to the defensive specialist, the Warriors could pair Steph Curry, Paul George, Draymond Green and D'Angelo Russell, who previously played with the team for half a season in 2019.

"If Dlo opt in it, a possibility u can see Steph, PG, Draymond, DLo….," he tweeted.

Following a notable stint with the Brooklyn Nets, D'Angelo Russell landed on the Warriors in the 2019-20 season. The guard played 33 games with the Warriors, averaging 23.6 points, 6.2 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game. He shot for 43.0%, including 37.4% from beyond the arc.

Those numbers were solid, but after becoming an All-Star at Barclays Center, he couldn't fit in with the Warriors, who ultimately sent him to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the trade that sent Andrew Wiggins to the Bay.

Russell spent the last two seasons with the LA Lakers, having ups and downs with the Purple and Gold, failing to prove that he was the best third string for LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Can D'Angelo Russell leave the Lakers and confirm Patrick Beverley's idea?

The start of the 2024 NBA free agency is a couple of days away, and D'Angelo Russell's future remains up in the air. After two seasons with the 17-time NBA champions, the guard is seemingly looking for a new challenge in the league. He showed a better game in the 2023-24 regular season but once the playoffs arrived, he vanished again.

Even though some fans have asked Russell to stay with the team, D'Lo seems to be out of the team at this moment. Klutch Sports clients like Dejounte Murray or Collin Sexton have been mentioned as potential replacements for the veteran guard, but nothing is official yet.

It's unclear if the Warriors would be interested in reuniting with Russell after his tumultuous first stint with the team, but Patrick Beverley traced a path for a potential reunion.
