Paul George reflects on embracing struggles amid challenges with a powerful message on IG

Paul George has been vocal about facing adversity and challenges after opening up about his mental health struggles in 2022.

Talking with Serge Ibaka on his show "How Hungry Are You," George provided an in-depth perspective on battling with his mental health in the NBA Bubble in 2020.

"A lot of it was just weighing on me ... I probably went a good week-and-a-half to two weeks of zero sleep. I would lay in bed, and my mind would just be racing, racing, racing," George said.

The Philadelphia 76ers star has continued to open up about his struggles, giving fans an inside look at his perspective on facing challenges with a post on his Instagram.

"Anything worth having will always be worth fighting for. Life is an everyday struggle but its worth it. Just as anything else worth it will be a continual struggle or fight," George posted to his story.

George is one of many NBA stars to step forward and offer his perspective on mental health struggles, with players like DeMar DeRozan and Kevin Love also stressing the importance of getting help for mental health struggles throughout their respective careers.

Paul George offers insight into Clippers' failures last season

After five seasons, the LA Clippers moved on from George, instead retaining Kawhi Leonard and James Harden after another playoff disappointment last season.

The Clippers finished 51-31 with the fourth seed in the Western Conference. They battled many injuries throughout the season, with Leonard missing four games in their opening-round playoff loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

George offered some insight into the Clippers' struggles on his podcast, "Podcast P with Paul George," after the team's 4-2 loss to Dallas, indicating he thinks the team hit its stride too early in the season.

"It was a presence that it felt like we were gonna win every time we touched that floor," George said. "So I think that was the highlight, because you can't bottle that up. I wish we could bottle that up and be like, 'You know what, we figured it out, let's hold off and take this to late April, early May.' I feel like we peaked out. Teams figured us out, and it was downhill from there."

In their five seasons together, George and Leonard took the Clippers to the playoffs four times, making it as far as the 2021 Western Conference finals.

In July, George signed with the 76ers to form one of the best cores in the Eastern Conference alongside Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.
