Paul George's 'gorgeous' workout has Rapper Lil Dicky and NBA vet Patrick Beverley in awe
The Philadelphia 76ers revealed an inside look at Paul George's workout as the nine-time NBA All-Star donned the team's gear in the practice video.
The video quickly went viral, racking up over 400,000 views and drawing support from Rapper and 76ers superfan Lil Dicky, as well as George's former teammate, Patrick Beverley.
"Gorgeous," Lil Dicky commented on the post, to which the 76ers Instagram page responded, "gorgeous george," with a trademark emoji.
"He so 🥶 🔥," Patrick Beverley commented, offering support to his former Los Angeles Clippers teammate.
The video shows Paul George working on his game with several 76ers coaches, as he prepares for his first season in Philadelphia.
George signed a four-year $212 million deal with the 76ers in free agency in one of the NBA's blockbuster moves this summer. Philadelphia will feature one of the most talented cores in the NBA this season, looking to capitalize on their championship window with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.
George posted another impressive stat line in his last year as a Clipper, averaging 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists, shooting a career-high 41.3% from three-point range.
NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley offers words of support to Paul George
In an appearance on The Bill Simmons Show last Wednesday, NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley spoke on Philadelphia's acquisition of Paul George. Barkley offered his thoughts onGeorge's fit alongside the likes of Maxey and Embiid in Philadelphia.
"I think [Paul George] has a huge advantage," Barkley said. "He's only got to be the third-best player on the team. That's a really huge advantage for Paul, because [Joel Embiid] is the guy. Maxey is the second guy. Paul only has to be the third-best player." (6:15 mark)
While George will be the third-option on a contending team for just the first time in his career, the 34-year-old has shown the ability to play off-ball in Los Angeles alongside Kawhi Leonard and James Harden.
There will also be room for Paul George to create as Philadelphia will be arguably the most complementary fit of his career. With Joel Embiid anchoring the post and Tyrese Maxey running the offense from the perimeter, George will have the opportunity to create for himself in the mid-range area, arguably his best trait.
