"People will probably think I'm lying about that too"- LeBron James says he knew Carmelo Anthony was going to retire

LeBron James claims he knew that Carmelo Anthony was going to announce his retirement almost a week before it happened. Considering the relationship that the two share, James shed more light on this information.

NBA legend Carmelo Anthony, a basketball legend known for his scoring prowess, decided to retire after a 19-year professional career.

Anthony's career spanned several different teams. With a notable start with the Denver Nuggets, the forward eventually emerged as a superstar during his time with the New York Knicks.

After a short stint with the OKC Thunder and a failed venture Houston Rockets, Melo eventually found himself out of the league before returning to Portland. Anthony also had a short stint with the LA Lakers last season where he played alongside long-time rival and friend LeBron James.

James, who recently made history as the oldest player to score 40 points in a playoff game, shared some information on Anthony's retirement. He said:

"I kind of knew the announcement was going to happen cause I shot the video a week ago. So people will probably think I'm lying about that too. I shot the video like a week ago so I already knew the announcement was coming. I just didn't know which game and it happened today. But it's still bittersweet."

LeBron James heads into another offseason without a ring

The LA Lakers are coming off a 111-113 loss against the Denver Nuggets in Game 4 of the WCF. With this loss, LeBron James and the Lakers have officially been swept and sent packing.

Despite the disappointment of the playoff exit, the Lakers can still take pride in their impressive performance in the second half of the regular season. However, for a 38-year-old superstar like LeBron, a loss at this stage carries more weight.

Considering the physical toll on his body throughout his career, it becomes crucial for the Lakers to provide him with the necessary support and reinforcements for the upcoming season.
