Kobe Bryant suggested as the new NBA logo by Jamal Crawford amid introduction of revamped NBA trophies
Former NBA player Jamal Crawford has implored the NBA to use Kobe Bryant as the NBA logo.
The current logo, which features the silhouette of LA Lakers legend Jerry West, has been the same since 1969. With the recent changes in the league, Crawford is hopeful the NBA will consider using Bryant as the new logo.
The NBA has renamed almost all of its trophies based on some of the best players in the league. The MVP title will now be called the Michael Jordan Trophy in honor of the Chicago Bulls legend.
Several other changes were made to other trophies. The Defensive Player of the Year award will now be known as the Hakeem Olajuwon trophy. The Wilt Chamberlain Trophy will be awarded to the Rookie of the Year.
With these changes, the NBA also announced a new award, The Clutch Player of the Year. It was named the Jerry West Trophy, as he is arguably the most clutch player in league history.
With an award named after West and the recent changes, Crawford believes it is time to use Kobe as the new logo. He voiced his opinion via his Instagram page, saying it was the perfect time to make the change.
"Since we're naming things, perfect time to name Kobe as the new logo for the NBA. Thanks in advance."
Crawford went ahead and suggested a template for what the new logo could look like.

Kobe Bryant had a huge impact on several NBA players
Many young players have named Kobe Bryant as their source of inspiration on their basketball journey. Although several youngsters wanted to "be like Mike," others were motivated by Bryant.
In a recent interview, Devin Booker shared how he strives to uphold Bryant's ideals. He talked about how he aims to inspire the youth, just like Bryant did.
"That’s what wakes me up in the morning. That’s back to being inspired by the little kid up there. Like, my thing is — and Kob’ said it too — inspiring the youth (is everything).
"A kid grows up and is like, ‘Man, I want to be Devin. I want to dress like him. I want to play like him.’ I’ve never lost sight of that. That’s what keeps me going. Haters can do what they want and say what they want."
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander recently said that Bryant is his all-time best player. Although it is no secret that Bryant learned a lot from MJ, Shai believes Bryant's work ethic was on another level.
