Philadelphia 76ers Injury Report: Joel Embiid and 4 others listed on injury list for game against Magic (Jan. 12)

The Philadelphia 76ers will face the Orlando Magic on Sunday in a clash between two Eastern Conference teams. Joel Embiid and four other Sixers players were listed on the team’s injury report ahead of their matchup against Paolo Banchero and company.

Embiid is now ruled out from the game after being listed as "questionable" as he continues to recover from a sprained left foot. The hopes of the 7-foot center's return to action on Sunday after missing the last three games has been quashed with the update.

The former league MVP last played in Philadelphia’s 123-94 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Jan. 4, where he delivered a stellar performance with 28 points, 12 rebounds and six assists in 29 minutes, shooting 8 of 16 from the field, including 2 of 3 from beyond the arc.

Despite missing 23 of the team’s 36 games this season, Joel Embiid was showing flashes of his dominant form before this latest injury setback.

Meanwhile, the Sixers have ruled out Andre Drummond (left toe sprain), KJ Martin (left foot stress reaction), Kyle Lowry (right hip sprain) and Jared McCain (left knee meniscus surgery) for Sunday’s game.

Philadelphia, led by coach Nick Nurse, currently sits 11th in the Eastern Conference standings with a 15-21 record. They face a tough test against the Magic, who recently welcomed back their star forward Paolo Banchero, adding strength to their lineup.
