PHOTO: 7'4" tall Victor Wembanyama hilariously dwarfs Costa Rican natives in vacation pic
After a fantastic rookie season in the NBA and a strong showing at the Paris Olympics, Victor Wembanyama is now enjoying a well-deserved break. The San Antonio Spurs' rising star has opted to take a vacation in tropical weather, as he was spotted in Costa Rica.
During the 7'4" tall Frenchman's excursion, he ran into some lucky fans who had the privilege of taking a picture with him. While it was likely not the intention, the image provided a comical reminder of just how much Wemby towers over the people around him.
Victor Wembanyama is one of three current NBA players who are listed at 7'4". The others are Serbian center Boban Marjanovic and the 2024 Draft's ninth-overall pick Zach Edey. They are the three tallest players in the NBA right now.
However, they are not the tallest players ever to grace the hardwood. That distinction belongs to Gheorghe Muresan and Manute Bol, who both stood at 7'7".
Muresan played for Washington when they were still called the Bullets as well as the Nets when they were still based in New Jersey. Bol played for the Bullets, the Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat and the Philadelphia 76ers.
Manute's son Bol Bol is currently a member of the Phoenix Suns. The younger Bol stands just an inch shorter than Wemby.

Victor Wembanyama receives his NBA 2k25 rating
When NBA 2k24 was released on Sept. 2023, Victor Wembanyama was given an overall rating of 84. Throughout the 2023-24 regular season, he proved night in and night out that he was indeed one of the best rookies that the league has ever seen. This also earned him a better rating in the basketball simulation videogame.
By the time the final player updates for 2k24 were released, the Spurs rookie was rightfully updated to an overall of 89 to reflect his Rookie of the Year-winning performance.
With the release of NBA 2k25 coming soon (Sept. 6, 2024), 2k Games have gradually rolled out the player's ratings. One of the players whose ratings were revealed was Wemby and he was given a 91 overall, a seven-point improvement over his initial 2k24 rating.
According to 2kratings.com, he also starts the game out with 12 total badges. The breakdown for his badges is five golds, four silvers and three bronzes. Most of these badges are for his rebounding, defense and finishing, but he does have one shooting badge.
Just like in 2k24, his rating of 91 is not yet final. This might go up or down throughout the season depending on his performance. And with a veteran point guard like Chris Paul, who is known to elevate his teammates, fans might see this rating climb up soon.
