PHOTO: Bronny James dominates billboard for NBA Summer League ahead of No. 2 pick Alex Sarr

Bronny James of the LA Lakers is featured on the official poster of the NBA 2K25 Summer League alongside second-overall pick Alex Sarr. James will headline the Lakers' Summer League roster along with teammates Dalton Knecht, Colin Castleton, Blake Hinson and Maxwell Lewis.

In a photo shared by Ben Golliver of the Washington Post, James and Sarr dominated the promotion poster for the Summer League. The poster also featured Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs and Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks.

"Lakers guard Bronny James is front and center on NBA Summer League ads in Las Vegas," Golliver wrote.

The Summer League is set to start on July 6, with the California Classic held in Sacramento and San Francisco. The games in Sacramento will end on July 9, while the one in San Francisco concludes on July 10.

Subsequently, the Salt Lake City Summer League is scheduled from July 8 to 10. The NBA 2K25 Summer League will then start on July 12 and end on July 22. Each team will play at least five games, but it's unclear how many games Bronny James will suit up for.

James signed a guaranteed four-year contract despite being a second-round draft pick. That means he already has a spot in the LA Lakers' roster, unlike the other players playing in the Summer League. Some of them are trying to impress teams just to get an invite to training camp or a potential two-way contract.

Bronny James headlines LA Lakers Summer League roster

The LA Lakers have 14 players on their Summer League roster, consisting mostly of rookies or players with at least a one-year experience of playing professional basketball.

Here's the official Summer League roster for the Lakers:

  • Colin Castleton
  • Mohamed Diarra
  • Sean East II
  • Blake Hinson
  • Bronny James Jr.
  • Dalton Knecht
  • Tommy Kuhse
  • Maxwell Lewis
  • Kyle Mangas
  • Grayson Murphy
  • Joirdon Nicholas
  • Quincy Olivari
  • Armel TraorĂ©
  • Vincent Valerio-Bodon

South Bay Lakers head coach Dane Johnson will be in charge of the team's roster in both the California Classic and Las Vegas Summer Leagues. Lakers head coach JJ Redick is also expected to get involved in a certain capacity, given his lack of coaching experience.

Bronny James' first chance to suit up for the Lakers is on July 6 when the team opens up their California Classic Summer League against the Sacramento Kings. The Lakers will then take on the Golden State Warriors on July 7 before facing the Miami Heat on July 10.

The Lakers have at least five games in Las Vegas, starting on July 12 against the Houston Rockets. They then face the Boston Celtics on July 15, the Atlanta Hawks on July 17 and the Cleveland Cavaliers on July 18. They have a fifth game if they don't qualify for the playoffs.

If the Lakers qualify for the playoffs, they will need to win two more games to be crowned Summer League champions.
