PHOTO: First look at "Kobe Bryant custom LA28 emblem" designed by Vanessa Bryant for Los Angeles Olympics

The 2028 Los Angeles Olympics will pay the ultimate tribute to Kobe Bryant at the event in southern California with Vanessa Bryant announcing a custom emblem in memory of her late husband. In a recent clip released on the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic & Paralympic Games' account, Bryant offered a look at the emblem that incorporated Kobe's logo in the letter "A" of the LA28 symbol.

The logo also has shades of purple and gold from Bryant's NBA team, the Los Angeles Lakers.

Bryant hopes that it will inspire athletes from around the globe.

"We designed this emblem in his honor. We hope this inspires the Mamba mentality in every aspiring Olympian and Paralympian. We're so proud to see this emblem represent the Los Angeles games. I know Kobe would be so proud to host the games in this great city," said Vanessa Bryant.

Kobe Bryant was passionate about bringing the competition to Los Angeles due to his love for the Olympic Games and the city.

Vanessa Bryant also shared stories that her family would come together to enjoy previous Olympics and highlighted basketball, track and field, swimming, volleyball and soccer as some of their favorite events.

The tragic and sudden death of NBA superstar Kobe Bryant is something basketball fans still deal with. Bryant was loved by fans around the globe for his work ethic, positive attitude, mentality, generosity and leadership qualities.

In Los Angeles, there are several murals and images of Bryant around the city. The new Olympics emblem will be the latest homage to the former athlete.

Over an illustrious career that spanned 20 years and three decades, Kobe Bryant won five NBA championships with the Lakers and was named the league MVP in 2008.

On the international stage, Bryant was a member of the USA team that won the gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He followed that up with some outstanding performances at the 2012 games in London, guiding his nation to another gold medal after defeating Spain 107-100 in the finals.
