Across USA Basketball's exhibition games, Haliburton has provided excellent minutes at the point guard spot. His combination of reliable 3-point shotmaking and precise decision-making has given Steve Kerr a go-to option when Warriors star Stephen Curry needs to head to the bench.

Tyrese Haliburton talked about being ecstatic about being part of Team USA

Tyrese Haliburton showed flashes of being a proper fit for USA Basketball when he participated in last year's FIBA World Cup alongside Anthony Edwards and Jalen Brunson. With this year's Olympic roster stacked with superstars and two-way athletes, Haliburton couldn't help but feel excited about the opportunity.

"How can you not want to do this?" Haliburton said (h/t FanNation). "We watch our role models and guys we look up to represent USA Basketball. I wanted to be a part of that."

His presence on the court has been vital in providing quality spacing, whichever lineup he's a part of. Aside from his value in offensive spacing, Haliburton has also been one of the best playmakers on the squad, given the several options he has in converting precise passes.

During the 2023 FIBA World Cup, Tyrese Haliburton put up 8.6 points, 5.6 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game.

The efficient shotmaking is one of the factors that made him an ideal choice to back up Curry as the squad's floor general. This is coupled with his ability to read the court to make the right decisions effectively.
