LA Lakers rookie Dalton Knecht suited up in style for Wednesday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Following a three-game homestand defending their home court, the Lakers are set for their second road game of the season.
Knecht wore a gray fleece jacket worth $266 (per Farfetch) ahead of the game. The jacket of the rookie forward had a pegasus design on the front. He paired it with a $1,799 bag (per Justbag) from the designer brand Louis Vuitton.
Knecht wore loose black jogging pants to complete his look for tonight.
Lakers head coach says Dalton Knecht is "coachable"
Dalton Knecht isn't the best defender on the Lakers. However, based on his current shooting performance, he has established himself as a valuable offensive asset. Through the first four games, the rookie forward has been a reliable shooter from beyond the arc, knocking down 38.5% of his 3-pointers.
Defensively, he needs to improve to become a lockdown defender. Lakers coach JJ Redick talked about Knecht improving to become a better defender.
"Ahead of schedule? I don’t know how to answer that part of it," Redick said (via The Athletic's Jovan Buha). "I would say when we drafted him, we felt like he could contribute right away. Summer League confirmed that. ... You obviously then have to translate to a game, particularly on the defensive side of the ball for a rookie. ...
"I challenged him when we were four weeks out from training camp and we were doing a lot of small-group games and I just said, ‘Hey, you’re not gonna be a lockdown defender. I need your competitive spirit on that end of the floor to be higher.’ And it was higher the next day, and it’s been higher ever since. And that’s what I mean by coachable. You tell him to do something and he does it."
So far, Knecht hasn't had a blowout game. However, he's remained consistent, always ready to score when needed. In his first four games, the former Tennessee star averaged 5.8 points and 1.2 assists in 15.2 minutes per game.
His highest point production was on Saturday's win against the Sacramento Kings when he scored 10 points and shot 2-for-5 from deep.
