Pic: NBA's 3rd highest scorer Karl Malone enjoys pool date with wife Kay Malone
Utah Jazz legend Karl Malone isn't one to be seen in public so often. Ever since he retired from the game in 2004, the former power forward kept his life as private as possible, only making public appearances on special occasions. Proof of that is that he hasn't tweeted since 2020.
That said, his wife Kai Malone (neƩ Kinsey) shared an update about the two-time NBA MVP on Wednesday. Kai took to Instagram to share a story about the 'Mailman' as they went on a pool date. She didn't add a caption to the post and only posted a picture of herself with the former player where both are wearing sunglasses in the pool.
Karl Malone is one of the best players to never win an NBA championship after going to back-to-back NBA Finals with the Utah Jazz in 1997 and 1998. They were defeated both times by the Michael Jordan-led Chicago Bulls, with Malone and his best partner John Stockton being unable to move past MJ.
He finished his NBA career after a single season with the LA Lakers in 2003-04. Malone was one of the best and most consistent scorers in the league during his best years, finishing his career as the second-best scorer of all time with 36,928 points, only behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
After LeBron James took over as the highest scorer of all time, he dropped to No. 3, but that spot appears to be safe for many years to come.
Now Malone is enjoying his life outside the league, but controversy follows him whenever he makes public appearances, especially when NBA fans are around.
Who is Karl Malone's wife Kai?
Despite not winning an NBA championship, Karl Malone ended up getting a ring in a different field. The player found success in the league, individually speaking, and lived so many happy moments off the court too. On Dec. 24, 1990, he married Kai Kinsey, a former Miss Idaho.
They have been together over 30 years and things appear to be going as strong as ever by that picture that Kinsey shared on her Instagram profile. Unlike other couples, they remain together after all this time and have four children: daughters Kadee, Kylee and Karlee and son Karl Jr.
Malone had one of the best NBA careers that anybody can think of, winning multiple individual awards and becoming a force to be reckoned with. However, the biggest honor of all was elusive to him.
