"Politics doesn't get in the way": Mark Cuban clarifies relationship with co-owner Miriam Adelson despite $136 million Trump campaign donation
Dallas Mavericks minority owner Mark Cuban has no issues with his co-owner Miriam Adelson after the latter donated a whopping $136 million to Donald Trump's presidential campaign, per Front Office Sports. The Mavericks have a payroll of $180 million per year and Adelson spent almost that same amount in just one person while sending tens of millions to other Republican candidates.
Given how intense Cuban's opinions are about Trump, some wondered if this donation would create issues between Adelson and Cuban. But, the 2011 NBA champion owner made it clear that his relationship with Adelson transcends politics and whatever she did with her money isn't more important than their friendship.
“We are friends and partners,” Cuban sent in an email sent to Front Office Sports. “Just like we have been for years. Politics doesn’t get in the way.”
This comes after Cuban said that Donald Trump has "fascist tendencies" on Sunday. Adelson, on the other side, has been actively supporting the former U.S. President, putting around $100 million to support Trump's campaign through her Preserve America political action committee.
Adelson and her family have supported Trump for years, including a similar amount in 2020. Front Office Sports notes that Adelson waited until Nikki Haley dropped out of the Republican primary to make her donation to Trump's career.
Mark Cuban blasted Donald Trump over antics at Michigan rally
Mark Cuban has been a fierce critic of Donald Trump for a while now and this presidential election has taken things to a new level. The Mavericks co-owner hasn't missed a chance to call out Trump, especially after he threatened to not pay people after his mic failed during a Michigan rally.
"This truly pisses me off. For him to not pay or even to threaten not to pay a hard working audio engineer, or anyone who did the job they were asked to do, is revolting to me.
"You can make all the excuses you want, but it doesn't change the fact that he has a long, long history of doing this, and no matter how much money he has, he will take advantage of hard working Americans," Cuban tweeted last week.
Mark Cuban is vocal about his opinions and when it comes to Donald Trump, he gets more intense.
