"Pretty cool": Steph Curry's sister drops emotional reaction to Team USA superstar's opening ceremony debut

Steph Curry is ready to represent Team USA in the 2024 Paris Olympics and bring another gold medal to USA Basketball's cabinets. Curry and company were present in the inaugural ceremony. The men’s basketball team is scheduled to play Serbia on Sunday.

The four-time NBA champion appeared on TV before the boat sailed. Curry talked about the experience of playing in the Olympics and sharing touches with other players who dominated the competition before.

"It's a wild experience, for sure. I've watched this plenty of times. ...To be here and experience it for myself, I'm a true fan out here, no matter what you experience in your career, it's something very humbling... I'm excited to be here," Curry told a reporter.

His sister Sydel Curry-Lee reacted to his words on Instagram stories, sharing a message to celebrate her brother.

"Pretty cool, pretty cool @stephencurry30," she captioned the post.

The USA delegation was the second to last group shown by the cameras, after Australia. Los Angeles will host the Olympics in 2028, and in 2032, it will be held in Brisbane.

Steph Curry and Co. look like strong candidates to win the gold medal in the basketball tournament. Team USA features future Hall of Famers like LeBron James and Kevin Durant in addition to Curry.

Steph Curry was trading chips with other American athletes

After his TV appearance, Steph Curry was spotted speaking to other athletes on the boat and even trading pins with other athletes. A video shared by Team USA showed the Golden State Warriors superstar pulling out a bag of pins to exchange with other stars.

Following a disappointing 2023-24 NBA season with the Warriors, Curry is set to take on another challenge and compete to take Team USA to the top of the world after falling short of winning the 2023 FIBA World Cup in Asia.

Curry has won two gold World Cup medals, but this will be his chance to add an Olympic gold to his impressive resume.

After winning the 2022 NBA championship, the Warriors have struggled to emulate their success. Steph Curry couldn't take them beyond the play-in tournament, losing to the Sacramento Kings, the same team they had eliminated in the first round of the 2023 playoffs.

"The Dubs" have a lot of work to do next season, but right now, Curry has a different goal in mind.
