Reigning NBA champion crowns LeBron James as the GOAT over Michael Jordan
LeBron James has a reigning NBA champion's vote in the league's "Greatest Of All Time" debate.
In a video that surfaced on Wednesday afternoon, Boston Celtics star Derrick White backed James during an interaction with fans.
"He's the goat? LeBron's the goat," two fans asked White on a golf course.
White turned to the fans, gave a thumbs up and nodded in agreement.
White experienced James' greatness up close during their time at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where the Los Angeles Lakers star led Team USA to a gold medal.
James will enter his 22nd NBA season this year, after averaging 25.7 points, 8.3 assists and 7.3 points in 71 games last season. This performance contributed to his 20th All-Star selection.
LeBron James says Bronny can call him GOAT, can't call him dad in Lakers locker room
In a snippet for an episode of "The Shop" that will air on Thursday, James talked about suiting up alongside his son, Bronny, for the Lakers this season.
The veteran was asked if he was okay with Bronny calling him "dad" in the locker room or during games, but James had other names in mind.
"No, he can't. We already laid that down," James said. "He can not call me 'dad' in the workplace. Once we leave out of the practice facility and the gates close, I can be 'dad' again... No, he got to call me like '2-3', or 'Bron'. Or, you know, 'GOAT' if he wants to, it's up to him."
James may share the belief that he's the greatest NBA player in history — and rightfully so. The Laker forward is set to turn 40 years old on December 30, but it looks like he could easily play at a high level for a minimum of three to five more seasons.
The Lakers will look to return to their form as one of the top teams in the Western Conference and make another title run behind the duo of James and Anthony Davis.
