Reports: Kevin Durant solidifies Paris association with investment in $4.4 billion enterprise

Aside from his legendary career in the NBA, Kevin Durant has done well for himself in the world of business. Following his gold medal win in the 2024 Olympics, the former MVP announced one of his newest partnerships.

On Monday afternoon, reports surfaced that Durant is now a minority stakeholder with Paris Saint-Germain. The prestigious soccer club is currently valued at around $4.4 billion.

This news comes on the heels of Durant having a stellar run in Paris with Team USA in the Olympics. Along with winning his fourth gold medal, the Phoenix Suns star broke Lisa Leslie's scoring record with the program.

Paris Saint-Germain has been the home of some of soccer's biggest names over the years. Among the most notable players to suit up for the franchise are Lionel Messi and Neymar.

PSG is part of Ligue 1 and has been one of their top clubs over the years. They are fresh off winning the championship and have the most overall titles in the league's history with 12. While Kevin Durant continues his career in the NBA, he now finds himself a partial owner of one of soccer's elite clubs.

Kevin Durant now owns multiple soccer teams

Following reports surfacing of him investing in PSG, Kevin Durant now holds stake in multiple pro soccer franchises. One is in Europe, while the other is in the United States.

Back in 2020, Durant joined the ownership group for the Philadelphia Union of the MLS. At the time, the superstar forward was in the early stages of his tenure with the Brooklyn Nets. Durant's deal started him off with 5% ownership, with a chance to own 5% more in the future.

The Union are coming off a lackluster season, finishing in 10th place. Across 25 games, they finished with a record of six wins, ten losses and nine draws.

With Kevin Durant adding another investment to his portfolio, his net worth is sure to see a sizable increase. Earlier this year, it came in at around $300 million.

As expected, a good chunk of Durant's net worth comes from his NBA contract. This season, KD is going to be one of the NBA's highest-paid players at $51.1 million.

Aside from his Phoenix Suns contract, Durant's other main source of income comes from his deal with Nike. In the summer of 2023, he joined the rare group of people to ink a lifetime deal with the iconic brand. The others to do so are a pair of NBA legends in LeBron James and Michael Jordan.
