Riff Raff believes NBA teams are ‘foolish’ for ‘fumbling’ Mac McClung: “He's the new Ivory Iverson”
Mac McClung has been the biggest surprise for any NBA fan this season for his outstanding performance in the Slam Dunk Contest during the All-Star Weekend. His cousin, Riff Raff, said that the Golden State Warriors and the LA Lakers "fumbled" by letting him go.
Hip-hop artist Riff Raff has been supporting McClung for a long time and knows what he's capable of bringing to the team. He recently said this about his cousin's NBA journey so far:
"He's been on the Warriors. They fumbled. He's been on the Lakers with some of his favorite players, and he's playing with them and they fumbled that, and now he's over there in Philly.
"He's the new Ivory Iverson!!!!"
"Any NBA team owner would be foolish to not wanna fill the stands and get hat hype around their team. To me, and to anybody who actually watches him play, he's a starter."
Currently, McClung is on a two-way contract with the Philadelphia 76ers, a move which came after he had already been invited to participate in the dunk contest. However, he hasn't played a game for the team this season.
Last season, he played two games for the Chicago Bulls and the Lakers. Over the summer, McClung became part of the Warriors' summer league team. Before the start of this season, he was released by the team.
McClung won the dunk contest with the never-before seen dunks he made during the competition. He's been known as a high flyer since his high school days when he went viral online. Mac spent most of his time in the G League before being signed by the Sixers before the All-Star break.

Can Mac McClung be a solid rotation piece on an NBA team?
Mac McClung has been in the G League for two seasons now. This has helped him develop his game, and teams have easier access to see how well he would fit their systems. Still, despite how hard he's been working on his game, he hasn't been given a big break in the league.
This season, he's averaged 17.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 5.8 assists while making 43.1%, including 32.1% of his 3-pointers.
Looking at his G League stats, it's safe to assume that he's a decent facilitator. That kind of ability can give him a better chance at staying in the NBA. Defensively, he isn't a safe option, as he's only averaged 0.9 steals and 0.1 blocks this season.
McClung still has a ton of areas to work on. But if the Sixers decide to keep him this season, he'll get a chance to learn how to secure a roster spot in the NBA.
