Controversial analyst endorses Jonathan Isaac's statement criticizing Tyreek Hill after detainment
On Monday, Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac weighed in on the body cam footage of NFL star Tyreek Hill's police exchange. On Sunday, as Hill was on his way to Hard Rock Stadium for the game between the Miami Dolphins and the Jacksonville Jaguars, he was pulled over by local law enforcement.
The situation escalated, leading to Hill being removed from his car, handcuffed and, later, pulled to the ground by his neck by an officer. The officer in question has since been placed on administrative leave. Despite the speeding ticket and heated altercation, Hill avoided arrest and later celebrated a touchdown with a 20-17 win.
In a post-game interview, Hill said that if he was not a well-known athlete, things might have ended badly. On the heels of bystander and police body cam footage, Isaac tweeted:
"All love to Hill, thank God the situation ended peacefully… but this should be shown to every black boy on how not to act when being pulled over, respectfully 🙏🏽. It’s immature as black men to put our lives in the hands of officers in this way! Especially when you’re of his caliber.
"Neither side has an obligation to be nice… but 9.99 times out of 10 you gone get what you give with LE. especially when you’re being pulled over for a valid reason… That’s fair… There are unjust exceptions/escalations of course 🙏🏽 This wasn’t anyone’s best moment on both sides. A nothing burger IMO."
Former ESPN writer Jason Whitlock, who has a disagreeable reputation in the media because of his numerous controversial stances against athletes and other journalists, criticized Hill on Monday's episode of Blaze TV's "Fearless." Whitlock called Tyreek Hill "ridiculously irresponsible" regarding his reputation off-field and said that Hill was not a victim of police brutality against people of color.
He retweeted Isaac's comments with his own endorsement, saying:
"Excellent. Common sense."

In the past few years, Whitlock has raised eyebrows and ruffled feathers with his views and right-leaning political affiliations. Since parting ways with ESPN, he has been producing content for BlazeMedia, which describes itself as, "The home of dissent from woke capital big tech, cultural arsonists and state-sponsored media."
In response to the incident, Whitlock made his stance against Tyreek Hill clear on Twitter as well. Responding to attorney Ben Crump, who questioned whether the use of force from the officers was necessary, Whitlock tweeted:
"Was Tyreek Hill's non-compliance with police really necessary? Crump believes a man with 10 kids and six baby mamas has no responsibility to avoid conflict with law enforcement. The state is responsible for everything. The (black) individual is responsible for nothing."
Whitlock also replied to sportswriter Ian Rapoport, who called the videos from the incident "horrifying":
"Horrifying? How about easily avoided with compliance?"
In another tweet, Whitlock directly responded to a post from Hill:
"Start with wearing a c**d*m and quit relying on your "pull-out" game. Police asked you to pull out of the car and once again you were too late. Start there."
According to the Miami Herald, Tyreek Hill's legal team is preparing to take legal action concerning the incident, although it's unclear what steps they will take.
