Rob Perez gives trade update on LA Lakers: "But if they lose this game tonight, you better keep your Wojbomb alerts on"

The LA Lakers have been linked with several teams in trade talks. Given talks of possible trades at the moment, Rob Perez offered an interesting update that could be suggestive of some movement soon.

The Purple and Gold definitely whiffed in the free agency period and offseason. Although the team made some interesting signings, the Lakers undoubtedly missed the mark with regards to what they were trying to achieve.

The Lakers have recently been linked with teams such as the Utah Jazz and the Indiana Pacers. With the primary trade piece for the Purple and Gold being Russell Westbrook, the team has resumed trade talks.

While several rumors have surfaced, there has been no active movement on any fronts. However, NBA analyst Rob Perez recently suggested that these rumors might gather some traction.

In light of the LA Lakers' poor performance to start the season, Perez believes that the team has started the process of facilitating trades.

"The Lakers are very much putting feelers out there. Trust me. Like, it would not surprise me if they get waxed without LeBron in Utah tonight. They fall to 2-8. They cannot afford to let this season get away from them, especially without their draft pick this year.
"There will be some movement. I think in the near future, I'm not going to specify as to who because I know better than that. But if they lose this game tonight, you better keep your Wojbomb alerts on. I'll just say that much."

Perez's comments were made before the team's game against the Utah Jazz on Monday. However, in light of the the Lakers' 116-139 loss, the team may be forced to make moves in the trade market to put an end to their losing streak.

The primary concern in any trade talks for the Lakers remains their unwillingness to include the 2027 and 2029 second-round picks. While Rob Pelinka has mentioned that the team is willing to part with these for the right offer, the team hasn't moved forward with this.

While Westbrook has been made available, the Lakers may also make Anthony Davis available on the trade market. Whether this could help facilitate a move would be interesting to follow.

The LA Lakers have consistently been linked in trade talks with the Indiana Pacers. With pieces such as Myles Turner and Buddy Hield as possible targets for the Lakers, the Purple and Gold could benefit from making the trade.

The primary element heading out for the Lakers would be Russell Westbrook and the two draft picks. However, this could be a risk worth taking as the Lakers rack up a 2-8 losing record.

Turner and Hield have been incredible this season with the Indiana Pacers. Turner is currently averaging 13.8 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game. He is also shooting 30.8% from beyond the arc. At the same time, Hield is notching an impressive 18.6 points per game on 42.5% shooting from beyond the arc.

Turner himself has urged the Lakers to pull the trigger on the trade as he believes he could be a solid contributor to the team. Given the current scenario, the LA Lakers should consider making a trade to help their cause.
